Overview

TailTag ("we", "our", or "us") is a convention game for creating a profile, registering fursuits, logging catches, and tracking achievements. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who helps us process it, and how you can request deletion of your account and associated data.

We do not sell personal information. We do not show ads, and we do not use TailTag data for cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking.

Information We Collect

  • Account and sign-in data: your email address, TailTag user ID, username or display name, authentication provider identifiers, and authentication metadata from providers such as Apple, Google, or Discord.
  • Profile and fursuit data: profile avatar, profile bio, social links, fursuit names, fursuit photos, fursuit descriptions, species, colors, catch settings, and convention associations you choose to add.
  • Gameplay data: catches, catch status, catch timestamps, convention participation, achievements, daily tasks, streaks, leaderboards, notifications, NFC tag registration and scans, and related gameplay events.
  • Photos: profile avatars, fursuit photos, and catch photos you upload or take in the app.
  • Location verification data: when you choose to verify that you are at a convention, TailTag requests foreground location access and sends your current latitude, longitude, and location accuracy to our backend to compare with the convention geofence. TailTag does not continuously track your location in the background.
  • Push notification data: Expo push tokens, notification permission status, notification preferences, and notification delivery records.
  • Diagnostics and app telemetry: crash reports, error logs, performance traces, profiling data, device and operating system details, app version, navigation breadcrumbs, and related metadata. These diagnostics may include your TailTag user ID, email address, or username when you are signed in. TailTag does not record session replay samples in production beta builds.
  • Moderation, safety, and support data: reports, blocks, moderation actions, support emails, deletion requests, and notes needed to review safety issues or account requests.

How We Use Information

  • Provide TailTag features, including sign-in, profiles, fursuits, catches, achievements, daily tasks, leaderboards, and notifications.
  • Verify convention participation when a convention requires location verification.
  • Process uploaded photos and display user-provided content inside TailTag.
  • Send operational notifications about catches, achievements, daily tasks, and account activity.
  • Monitor app reliability, diagnose crashes and errors, measure performance, and improve beta builds.
  • Review reports, enforce safety rules, prevent abuse, and support moderation workflows.
  • Respond to support, account deletion, privacy, and security requests.
  • Comply with legal, safety, audit, and service integrity obligations.

What Other Users Can See

TailTag is a social convention game. Other users may see information that is part of the gameplay experience, such as your username or display name, profile avatar, public profile details, registered fursuits, fursuit photos, catch counts, achievements, leaderboard standings, and shared catch information. Report and moderation details are limited to the users and staff roles needed to review them.

Processors and Providers

We use service providers to operate TailTag. These providers process information for us or help complete actions you request:

  • Supabase: authentication, database, storage, realtime updates, and Edge Functions.
  • Expo: app services and push notification delivery infrastructure.
  • Sentry: crash reporting, diagnostics, performance monitoring, and profiling telemetry.
  • Apple, Google, and Discord: sign-in providers when you choose those authentication options.
  • Apple and Google: mobile platform services, app distribution, and platform-level push notification delivery.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for TailTag, including encrypted network connections, account authentication, access controls, and role-based moderation tools. No service can guarantee perfect security, but we work to limit access to personal information to the systems and people who need it.

Account Deletion and Retention

You can delete your account in the app from Settings -> Profile & account -> Delete account. If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion from our Delete Account page or email finn@finnthepanther.com.

Account deletion removes your authentication account, profile, account-linked gameplay records, and stored user media where supported by TailTag's deletion flow and database cascades. This includes profile avatars, fursuit photos, catch photos, owned fursuits, catches tied to your owned fursuits or created by your account, achievements, daily progress, streaks, and notifications linked to your account.

Some records may be retained when needed for safety, legal compliance, audit history, support tracking, service integrity, or operational backups. Where possible, user references are minimized, set to null, or de-identified when an account is removed.

Children

TailTag is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. It is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not use TailTag or provide information to us.
